My research interests are related to childhood obesity prevention focused on parental socialization of eating behaviors in preschool children. I am particularly interested in exploring factors that influence child eating socialization in Chile and Latin America.
My research interest focuses on the understanding of health and disease processes in health systems. Health experiences are related not only to the diagnosis of a disease, but also to the way we understand the disease at individual, family and social levels, and to the policies that regulate health services in a country.
My research interest lies in seeking answers about prevention of chronic diseases in older adults. I also want to address the growing concerns of health inequity in developing countries, where the health systems are not adequately equipped to manage the burgeoning of the older adult population. My research will gather evidence on what could be done to prevent chronic diseases in resource-constrained settings.
